The Team Pivot
Redirect or Persist
Syllabus
From Module 1 — read a sample
When strategy changes, the people who made the old strategy work become the first casualty — not because they failed, but because the new strategy requires different skills. The instinct to retain everyone and retrain is humane, but it is often a way of deferring a painful decision rather than solving it. The honest question is: which skills actually transfer, and which ones are you telling yourself transfer because the conversation is hard? Executing a pivot honestly means separating what people have done from what the company now needs — and being willing to say that plainly.
